Salvatore Ferragamo

Salvatore Ferragamo was born in 1898 in Bonito, a small town in the south of Italy. When he was not yet in his teens, he developed a strong interest in the world of footwear. At 15, Salvatore went to live in America and became the "shoemaker of the stars". In 1927, Salvatore returned to Italy and opened his workshop in Florence, which had always been home to skilled artisans.
