Esaú Yori embarked on his career as a designer more than 10 years ago and has come to embody an international statesman for the fashion industry. He grew up in Lima, Peru, and began his career as a creative director when he moved to the European city of Barcelona in 2000. Because of his Japanese, Italian, African and Peruvian roots, this innovative designer has the ability to elegantly blend different cultures.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Esaú Yori embarked on his career as a designer more than 10 years ago and has come to embody an international statesman for the fashion industry. He grew up in Lima, Peru, and began his career as a creative director when he moved to the European city of Barcelona in 2000. Because of his Japanese, Italian, African and Peruvian roots, this innovative designer has the ability to elegantly blend different cultures, resulting in a clean and classic product with eclectic touches in every collection. 

In 2006 he won the top prize for best international collection and a bronze medal for best collection in the Hempel Contest, Beijing. After this event, the artist’s career has continued to constantly evolve. He has collaborated with major brands in the industry as creative director and with major fashion magazines as editor. 

In addition, Esaú Yori is one of the best stylists known in the industry. His work has been published in magazines like Marie Claire, Faces, La Vanguardia, and Nox. His vast knowledge of the market and his ability to analyse detail propelled him to the role of stylist for international campaigns at Inditex Group, where he worked with famous photographers like Tim Barber, Purriene and Drew Jarret. In 2008, he started to collaborate as the director of the MBA in Art Direction at FdModa (Barcelona). In 2011 he became the Academic Director at Idep Barcelona – University of Image and Design, where he stayed until 2014. 

In 2015, motivated by his passion for Asian culture, the designer moved his creative studio to Guangzhou. There he launched his own project — Esaú Yori — as a global brand.
